The Work.

Whether it’s making people laugh, care, wonder, or simply stop scrolling for thirty seconds, the goal is always the same—to create something worth paying attention to. It usually starts with a problem to solve, an audience to reach, and an idea worth sharing. Here’s a very small collection of the people, places, and experiences I’ve had the privilege to help bring to life. If you’d like to see more of my work, take a stroll through The Video Zoo website.

Mr Authenticity – Billy Bob Thornton

Working with Billy Bob Thornton was a blast. The title for the video came to me about halfway through the interview when I thought, he’s so open, real, and… authentic. This was shot for Cowboys & Indians Magazine as a behind the scenes video of his interview and photo shoot -with friend and colleague, photographer Dixie Dixon- for an upcoming issue. After the interview and shoot we headed to see his band, The Boxmasters play and get some more footage and photos. What a great time. (Short documentary/Photo shoot BTS – 10:43)

TSport Trucks

TSport does fantastic modifications of Ford trucks. I flew to Atlanta, GA and drove about an hour North to their modification facility where there was also an amazing farm/location for us to film. We wanted to get as many scenes as possible, so I started shooting in the dark, and we continued until about noon. (30 second commercial)

Oklahoma’s Richest

The event producer wanted a fast paced commercial to promote an upcoming event, plus additional footage some could cut longer versions to promote other events, sponsors, and vendors. This was a whole lot of “shoot and relocate.” (30 second commercial)

Dixie Dixon & The Lonesome Longhorns

When she said “West Texas, longhorns, and a phone booth” I was in! Dixie Dixon was in the process of leaving brand X, to become a Canon Camera ambassador/Explorer Of Light, and they needed new content for her big announcement. We headed west for 2 days of fun, and came back with some fantastic, unique video and photos. Before leaving I had an idea to create a wacky introduction to kick the adventure off, and thankfully everyone agreed, and bestow all, Canon loved it. (Brand film/ambassador introduction – 4:12)

Luke Brown – Family & Friends

“I’ve been so lucky to have family and friends like that, that have had my back this whole career.” When that came out of Luke’s mouth I immediately knew that would be the title. Smarty Rodeo wanted to film a story with their endorsee Luke Brown to create a brand film, so I went to Luke’s place, filmed for day, and this is the result. Luke has now qualified for the National Finals Rodeo 16 times, ands earnings are over 3 million. (Brand Film – 9:08)

Platinum Performance – This Is My Horse

We traveled up the California coast to film & take photos with some of Platinums endorsees for their “This Is My Horse” campaign, and had a great time. We’d originally talked about just producing a video for each rider, but I thought a compilation would work well. I love the message of this piece. (Brand Film – 2:26)

I’m still endlessly fascinated by why some stories connect with us, and others don’t.
